Job summary

Fonterra is offering a Dairy Processing Apprenticeship that combines hands-on work with NZ Certificate in Dairy Processing Level 4. You’ll learn dairy processing from grass to glass, producing butter, cheese and milk powders for export, under technical mentors and a supportive team.

The program runs on-site from Monday to Friday with a future shift pattern. You’ll gain practical skills across large-scale production and tech-enabled equipment, setting you up for a successful dairy-industry career.

Qualifications

• Minimum of NCEA Level 2 Maths.
• Enjoys problem-solving and adapts to change easily.
• Confident with emerging technology and a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Must have a learner's driver’s license and be eligible for a restricted license before starting.
• Able to use computer systems confidently.

Responsibilities

• Learn dairy processing techniques from technical mentors and participate in large-scale production.
• Work on-site Monday to Friday initially and transition into shift patterns.
• Gain experience from grass-to-glass operations and support the dairy product lineup.
