Nino Salvaggio International in Livonia, MI is seeking a Dairy P.I.C. (Person in Charge) to lead the department and ensure product quality, safety and customer service.

You will supervise staff, manage ordering, stocking and training, coordinate production, merchandising and distribution, and maintain accurate pricing and dating procedures.

The role requires strong knowledge of dairy products, excellent communication and the ability to work early mornings, nights and weekends.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist department management with operations including training, ordering, stocking, attendance.
• Direct department workflow, coordinating production, sales, merchandising and distribution per shift.
• Maintain knowledge of all dairy products and ensure quality standards.
• Assist in determining dairy/frozen stock levels based on orders and projections.
• Follow procedures for dating, pricing and restocking to protect quality and image.
• Verify deliveries meet quality standards and invoice accuracy.
• Maintain inventory control for freshness and turnover.
• Communicate effectively within the store and organization.
• Supervise and train others on safe equipment use.
• Develop associates through training and delegation.

Job description

Nino Salvaggio is currently looking for an Dairy P.I.C. (Person in Charge) for our Livonia location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists the department management team with all aspects of operations, including but not limited to: training, ordering, stocking, time and attendance, etc.


• Effectively manage the department, meeting or exceeding company standards, on a per shift basis.


• Direct work flow in the department and coordinate activities involved with production, sale, merchandising and distribution of products offered in the department, on a per shift basis.


• Must be thoroughly familiar with and able to work with all products carried in the department including being fully knowledgeable in the differences (in price, taste, preparation or use) between the many varieties and types of dairy items offered. Adhere to all quality standards.


• Assists in determining variety and quantity of dairy/frozen products to be stocked, according to orders and sales projections.


• Follow approved procedures for dating, price marking and restocking cases to ensure quality protection, public image, accuracy and product rotation.


• Check and verify dairy department merchandise received to ensure that all items listed on vendor invoices are delivered and meet quality standards.


• Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control to ensure freshness, product quality and turnover for maximum sales and return-on-investment.


• Maintain good communications in the store and throughout the organization.


• Properly use, supervise and train others on the safe use of all equipment in the department.


• Maintain excellent knowledge of products carried in the department.


• Assist Dairy management with the development of the associates within department through training, supervision and delegation.


• Ensure favorable department image to customers by maintaining a clean, attractive and friendly department.


• Greet customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service and/or assistance.


• Motivate associates to achieve company sales and customer service goals.


• Lead by example.


• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous customer service experience required.


• Must be able to work early mornings, nights and weekends.

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.


• 1 to 3 months related experience and/or demonstrated ability required.


• Must be 18 years of age and demonstrate a strong knowledge of Dairy/Frozen operations.


• Experience in stocking, rotation procedures, product knowledge, customer service experience, etc.


• Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form sufficient to express an idea or thought.


• Excellent knowledge of the products carried in the department.


• Excellent organizational skills (detail oriented, goal oriented, follow through).\u00a0


• Great attitude (people skills, innovative, proactive).


• Must be able to stand and/or walk for 8 or more hour periods.


• Must be able to regularly bend, lift and/or move 25 pounds.


• The ability to work in and between extreme cold, wet, humid or hot conditions.
