Job summary

Food City is seeking a Perishable/Dairy Manager to lead the Dairy/Frozen Food department, supervise associates, and manage inventory while ensuring quality and customer service. The role requires enforcing safety standards and HACCP/COOL compliance, attending department meetings, and coordinating schedules and labor costs to support store success.

The incumbent will be accountable for maintaining product freshness, accurate records, and adherence to company policies in a fast-paced environment,

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Abundant knowledge and experience with Dairy/Frozen Food operations, policies, and procedures.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to delegate and be self-directed.
• Take leadership role in training and coaching team members.
• Comfortable working in refrigerated areas and adhere to KVAT food safety policies.
• Maintain professional appearance and follow KVAT dress code.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and courteous service to customers.
• Supervise, train, and develop qualified Dairy/Frozen Food department associates.
• Order and maintain inventory levels according to daily needs.
• Attend weekly department head meetings.
• Prepare work schedules for Dairy/Frozen Food associates.
• Enforce KVAT food safety policies and HACCP/ COOL standards.
• Ensure product meets quality and freshness standards.
• Maintain departmental paperwork and accurate records.
• Assist in interviewing potential new associates.
• Coordinate with Store Manager to control labor costs.
• Ensure merchandise is properly located and priced.
• Inspect and rotate stock daily for freshness.
• Remove damaged products from sales floor.
• Keep stockroom neat and clean.
• Dispose of all trash properly.
• Stack products neatly in stockroom and freezers.
• Support store mission to run the best store in town.
• Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts.
