Job summary

Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace is seeking a Full-Time Dairy Manager to lead our busy Dairy Department. You will oversee operations, ensure product quality, and deliver standout customer service to shoppers daily.

This hands-on role requires 3+ years in dairy management within a fast-paced retail setting, plus strong leadership and communication skills to train staff and optimize schedules while maintaining high standards of service and quality.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as a Dairy Manager in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of grocery dairy operations including inventory, stock rotation, shelf life, staffing, training, delegation, and scheduling.
• Exceptional management and customer service skills.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department operations, monitor freezer and cooler conditions, ensure proper temperatures, placement, rotation and cleanliness.
• Address and resolve customer concerns promptly to maintain an exceptional shopping experience.
• Train staff on duties, product knowledge, sanitation and customer service; implement department standards and seasonal processes.

Key Responsibilities

Department Oversight:

1. Monitor freezer and cooler conditions, ensuring proper temperatures, product placement, rotation, and cleanliness.
2. Assess department operations and develop strategies for improvement.
3. Review merchandise handling to boost productivity and maintain high-quality standards.

Customer Service:

1. Address and resolve customer concerns promptly, ensuring an exceptional shopping experience.
2. Communicate service issues to staff and develop solutions to maintain department excellence.
3. Ensure staff follow company procedures and uphold quality service standards.

Associate Training & Development:

1. Train staff on job responsibilities, product knowledge, sanitation, and customer service.
2. Teach department standards, policies, and seasonal sales processes.
3. Support staff growth and development within the department.

Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Dairy Manager in a fast-paced retail environment.
3. Strong knowledge of grocery dairy operations including inventory, stock rotation, shelf life, staffing, training, delegation, and scheduling.
4. Exceptional management and customer service skills.
5. Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
6. Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
7. Ability to work assigned schedules and adapt to department needs.
8. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
