Job summary

DFA seeks a Transportation Logistics Supervisor to oversee fluid milk product deliveries nationwide, coordinating schedules with DFA and external customers. You will manage carrier relationships, secure loads, and negotiate freight rates to optimize cost and delivery times.

The role requires 2–5 years of transportation experience, an undergraduate degree in logistics or related field, and knowledge of DOT guidelines. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in logistics, supply chain, or related curriculum.
• 2 to 5 years of transportation experience.
• Certification and/or License may be required during course of employment.
• Knowledge of food safety and supply chain integrity is required.
• Knowledge of trucking and DOT guidelines is essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee timely delivery of fluid milk products with DFA and customers.
• Input load information into traffic management system and tender loads.
• Find, develop and manage carrier relationships, including rate changes and resolution.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers and customers for cost efficiency.
• Communicate with carriers on contract and insurance requirements.
• Grow the customer base and provide excellent service with follow-up.
• Communicate hourly to daily with DFA and customer plants to ensure needs are met.
• Maintain high service levels and meet KPIs for DFA carriers.
• Investigate and resolve delivery-related issues; stay updated on regulations.
• Occasional afterhours and weekend duty as needed.
