Job summary

HP Hood is seeking a Lab Technician to perform laboratory testing for dairy products, ensuring quality and safety standards. You will pull and handle samples, monitor CIP sanitation, and report findings to the appropriate personnel to maintain product integrity.

The role requires knowledge of dairy microbiology, chemistry and quality control, with the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and support environmental testing and audits.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related science and/or equivalent job experience in a quality role of a food manufacturing plant
• Experience in food manufacturing
• Knowledge of food microbiology, chemistry, dairy standards and CIP sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing to meet standards set by PMO, standard methods, and FDA 2400 requirements.
• Log and run finish product and processing samples for tests on each product.
• Sample incoming raw materials and packaging to determine acceptability from suppliers.
• Audit CIP chemical concentrations and ensure compliance to specifications.
• Prepare media and lab controls (plates, buffers, etc.).
• Operate autoclave to sterilize plates and equipment as needed.
