The Morning Star Company in California is seeking an Agricultural Business Development: Dairy Specialist to establish and maintain professional relationships with tomato growers, dairies, and other agriculturalists for the purchasing and selling of farm products and services.

This role emphasizes professional purchasing/selling experience, relationship-building, and long-term business development within agriculture, including dairy insights.

Qualifications

• Track record of excellent results in a negotiating role with growers in the processed or fresh produce industries.
• Notable experience or expertise in the dairy industry with understanding of the economics that drive decision making.
• Excellent listening and communications skill, written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Contract with growers for purchase of tomatoes to meet plant needs.
• Sell agricultural services including transplants, transplanting, harvesting and other grower services.
• Coordinate transplanting, harvesting and delivery schedules in a timely, efficient, profitable manner.
• Build active market knowledge in assigned non-tomato crop portfolios.
• Identify challenges and opportunities in non-tomato crops.
• Negotiate and contract with growers specifying pricing, tonnage and terms for purchases and sales.
