Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking an Assistant Manager for a progressive dairy operation in the Midwest. You will work closely with ownership and the Dairy Manager to oversee daily activities and drive improvements across the herd and facility.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, staff development, and accurate record-keeping, with opportunities to grow into additional responsibilities within dairy management.

Qualifications

• Dairy experience preferred; willing to advance in responsibilities.
• Strong leadership and communication; able to supervise and develop staff.
• Hands-on approach; willing to work alongside employees.
• Experience with herd health, reproduction, calf care, parlor operations, and youngstock management.
• Basic computer skills; maintain records using dairy management software.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues and coordinate repairs.
• Spanish-speaking ability or willingness to learn preferred.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to grow professionally.

Responsibilities

• Supervise employees and ensure protocols are followed.
• Assist with herd health, reproduction, calf and heifer management, and parlor operations.
• Handle daily dairy activities and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with inventory, purchasing, and working with management for efficient operation.
• Interact with ownership and Dairy Manager to guide strategic decisions.
