Job summary

ShopRite is seeking a Dairy Clerk (Grade A) in Derby, CT to price, stock, rotate, and present Dairy products while delivering a great customer experience. You will maintain a clean, safe department and support the Dairy Manager with tasks as needed.

The role requires reading and speaking English, basic math, and physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in refrigerated areas. Compliance with company policies and safety standards is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize all surfaces, utensils and equipment per standards.
• Keep floor clear of debris and spills.
• Regularly lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise weighing 25 lbs, occasionally 50 lbs.
• Unload trucks and transport merchandise to Dairy Department.
• Stand for scheduled shifts, possibly exceeding 8 hours.
• Perform duties per local, state and federal regulations for Dairy operations.
• Dress and groom per company policy including uniform and name badge.
• Perform QA hand washing standards and use disposable gloves when handling food.
• Complete applicable department training programs.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Assist Dairy Manager as needed.
• Price items accurately using approved devices.
• Ensure featured sale merchandise is properly signed to stimulate sales.
• Record markups/markdowns and inventory writes-offs as directed.
• Maintain Unit Price Labels and update prices as required.
• Know the location of items and check prices.
• Promote charitable promotions to customers.
• Validate deliveries to invoices and use receiving logs.
• Stock and rotate Dairy merchandise in displays.
• Unload and secure received products in refrigerated storage.
• Maintain product face and shelf presentation.
• Monitor temperatures and equipment in storage areas and report issues.
• Understand Dairy product types, prices, and usage.
• Use CGO systems to maintain stock and place orders.
• Maintain equipment and report issues promptly.
• Communicate within the department and with the Company.
• Follow safety, policy, and compliance requirements including HAZCOM.
• Complete department training and adhere to ShopRite service priorities.
• Follow shrink guidelines for Dairy operations.
• Maintain punctual attendance and work overtime as needed.
• Work cooperatively with others.
