Job summary

ShopRite Inserra NJ is hiring a Dairy Clerk to deliver a great customer experience by pricing, stocking and rotating dairy merchandise. Maintain a neat, clean department and support the Dairy Manager with daily tasks.

The job requires lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long shifts, and a friendly, helpful attitude toward customers. All duties follow QA and safety standards, including proper handling of products and accurate pricing.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze and understand the English language.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment per QA standards.
• Keep floor clear of debris and spills.
• Regularly lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise weighing 25 lbs. and occasionally 50 lbs.
• Unload trucks and transport merchandise to Dairy Department.
• Stand in designated work area for duration of shift.
• Perform duties per Department policies and QA standards.
• Greet Customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Assist Dairy Manager as needed.
• Price items accurately using approved devices and ensure signage is attractive.
• Record markups/markdowns and manage in-store merchandise usage and spoilage.
• Maintain Unit Price Labels and updates as required.
• Check prices and know item locations in the store.
• Participate in promotions and charitable campaigns when applicable.
• Validate deliveries and maintain receiving logs.
• Stock and rotate Dairy merchandise in cases and displays.
• Use equipment safely and report issues promptly.
• Communicate within the department and with Store leadership.
