Job summary

The Georgia Department of Agriculture is seeking a Dairy Compliance Specialist at levels 1–3 to enforce sanitation rules at dairy farms and plants, collect samples, review records, and report findings.

You will conduct inspections, advise firms on health standards, and coordinate with state and federal agencies. A relevant degree or certification is required, with experience in inspections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Animal Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related area from an accredited college or university OR certification as a Registered Sanitarian or Environmental Health Specialist.
• One year of experience conducting inspections and investigations for compliance.
• Two years of experience conducting inspections and investigations for compliance or certification as a Registered Sanitarian or Environmental Health Specialist (for higher levels).

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of assigned firms following laws, rules, and regulations.
• Review plans and specifications for new or renovated food establishments.
• Collect samples of dairy products and environmental swabs; submit to laboratories.
• Advise firm managers on health and sanitation rules; document findings and corrective actions.
• Maintain equipment, records, and complete required forms and reports.

Education
