Overview

The Dairy Clerk is responsible for keeping all store dairy and frozen cases stocked and clean during business hours. They are required to assist customers as needed while maintaining a friendly, energetic demeanor. This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Dairy department.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure cleanliness of dairy cases, storage, and work areas for safety.
2. Stock dairy cases, including product presentation, facing, filling, and organization, ensuring tag and pricing accuracy.
3. Check rotation of dairy products, paying attention to expired stock and discarding outdated items.
4. Assist customers with inquiries, purchases, and product information; promote products through selling and cross-selling.
5. Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality.
6. Monitor point-of-purchase signs, recipe cards, coupons, and promotional materials.
7. Operate equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
8. Use scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
9. Maintain high product knowledge and preparation standards.
10. Regularly walk the department to ensure cleanliness and organization.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Be at least 16 years old.
• Dependable with flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Respect others and uphold high ethical standards within a diverse, inclusive culture.
• Positive attitude and good customer interaction skills.
• Effective communication and team participation abilities.
• Ability to perform repetitive activities, multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Physical ability to lift 40-60 lbs. boxes, walk up to 5 miles per shift, and use a step stool.
• Adhere to safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
