Position Summary:

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Promote trust and respect among associates.
  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  • Inform customers of specials and provide them with fresh products they have ordered.
  • Recommend dairy items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads and promotions.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, maintain proper temperatures, and keep temperature logs.
  • Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
  • Practice preventive maintenance and report equipment issues.
  • Notify management of accidents and report safety risks, theft, or fraud.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment, managing conflicts professionally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity, follow directions, and assist customers including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
