Position Description

Job Title: Daily Substitute Teachers
Job Status: Full-time or Part-time, as needed
Openings: Multiple
Reporting To: School Principal

Role Overview: A daily substitute teacher fills in for classroom teachers (K-8) during their absence, following lesson plans and guiding students in the classroom setting.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Supervise students in various settings including halls, playground, and cafeteria.
  • Implement lesson plans, classwork, homework, and assessments; attend parent-teacher conferences if needed.
  • Provide engaging learning materials and resources.
  • Report on student attendance, lesson progress, disciplinary actions, and positive developments.
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures and school regulations.
  • Support the school's mission of faith, learning, integrity, and Catholic values.
  • Model school and diocesan expectations based on official handbooks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Pre-Employment Checks

Applicants must submit current PA State Police Criminal Record, Child Abuse History, FBI Background Check, and complete Protecting God's Children and Mandated Reporter Training prior to interview.

Physical and Working Conditions

Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, communicate verbally, and use equipment. May need to lift or move classroom materials. Work hours are typically 8:00 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., Monday to Friday, with possible additional commitments.
