Job summary

Barber Preparatory Academy is seeking Daily Substitute Teachers in Michigan to support classrooms at Barber Preparatory Academy and Inkster Preparatory Academy. Earn $165 per day with a $750 bonus every 30 days worked, and join a network of schools focused on student growth and community engagement.

Responsibilities include supporting instruction, supervising students, following lesson plans, and collaborating with staff to maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Eligible for or currently hold a State of Michigan Substitute Teaching License.
• Minimum of 60 completed college credit hours.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
• Experience working with students or in an urban environment is a plus—but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction and help maintain a safe, welcoming learning environment.
• Supervise students throughout the school day (classroom, hallways, playground, cafeteria).
• Follow provided lesson plans and school procedures.
• Utilize school-approved curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students.
• Build positive relationships with students and school staff.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
