Job summary

Mission Veterinary Emergency & Specialty (MVES) in Kansas City, KS, seeks a second Cardiologist (DACVIM-Cardiology or residency-trained) to join our growing Cardiology service across MVES and OPVES. This is a full-time position in a fast-growing, 24-hour emergency and referral hospital with state-of-the-art facilities.

Ideal candidates are board-certified or residency-trained, with excellent communication and a passion for advancing veterinary medicine.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
• Board Certification in Cardiology (DACVIM-Cardiology) or residency-trained and practice-limited in Cardiology.
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
• Passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and interventional cardiology care, including diagnosis and management of complex cardiac cases.
• Perform and interpret echocardiograms, thoracic radiographs, ECGs, and Holter monitoring.
• Participate in on-call coverage for emergency echocardiograms and cardiology consultations as needed.
• Collaborate with emergency, critical care, internal medicine, oncology, and surgical teams to support comprehensive patient care.

• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
