Job summary

Gallagher is looking for an Accounting Business/System Support Analyst to bridge Accounting, Operations and IT. You will support accounting applications, improve financial processes, and develop reporting solutions while ensuring data integrity and compliance.

The role focuses on system integrations, upgrades, and collaborations with cross-functional stakeholders to enable efficient financial operations and reliable reporting across our digital ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in CS or related field with extensive data analysis and programming experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, IS, BA, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting, finance systems, ERP, or business analyst experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Dynamics 365.
• Advanced Excel and reporting; Power BI or other BI tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for accounting/financial systems (Dynamics 365, QuickBooks, Intacct) and reporting tools like Power BI.
• Document current/future-state processes, perform gap analysis, and recommend standard Dynamics 365 solutions.
• Provide guidance on Dynamics 365 capabilities, best practices, and process optimization.
• Gather and document business requirements for system enhancements and new functionality.
• Partner with Accounting, Operations, IT and vendors to implement changes and resolve issues.
• Develop, maintain, and validate financial reports, dashboards, and data extracts.
• Perform system testing, UAT, and QA for upgrades and releases.
• Monitor data integrity and support reconciliation, audit and compliance.
• Support user security, workflow configuration, and access controls.
• Assist with system integrations, data conversions, and projects.
• Troubleshoot issues with timely resolutions and recommendations.

How you'll make an impact

The Accounting Business/System Support Analyst serves as the liaison between Accounting, Operations, and Information Technology. This role supports accounting applications and business systems, analyzes and improves financial processes, develops reporting solutions, troubleshoots system issues, and assists with system implementations, upgrades, and integrations. The analyst ensures that accounting systems effectively support business requirements while maintaining data integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for accounting and financial systems including Microsoft Dynamics 365, QuickBooks, Intacct and reporting tools such as Power BI.
• Document current-state and future-state business processes, perform gap analysis, and recommend solutions that leverage standard Dynamics 365 functionality whenever possible.
• Provide guidance on Dynamics 365 system capabilities, best practices, and process optimization
• Gather and document business requirements for system enhancements and new functionality.
• Partner with Accounting, Operations, IT, and third-party vendors to implement system changes and resolve issues.
• Develop, maintain, and validate financial reports, dashboards, and data extracts.
• Perform system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and quality assurance for upgrades and new releases.
• Monitor data integrity and support reconciliation, audit, and compliance requirements.
• Support user security administration, workflow configuration, and access controls.
• Assist with system integrations, data conversions, and implementation projects.
• Troubleshoot application and reporting issues, providing timely resolutions and recommendations.

About You

Required:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, with 10 years of data analysis and programming experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting, finance systems, ERP, or business analyst experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Dynamics 365.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills; Power BI or other BI tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations experience strongly preferred.
• ERP implementation or upgrade experience.
• Experience supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and accounting operations in an ERP environment.
• Understanding of workflow design, security roles, and segregation of duties controls within ERP systems.
• Knowledge of internal controls, audit and compliance requirements.
• Business process mapping and documentation.
• SQL, reporting tools, or data analysis experience.
• Project management or change management experience.
