EmergencyMD is seeking an Automation Technician to support nightly production on D Shift (7pm–7am, Wed–Fri and alternating Saturdays) in Calhoun, GA. You will diagnose automation issues, maintain controls hardware, and implement improvements to sustain reliable operation.
You’ll document changes, collaborate with engineering and technicians, and ensure safe, stable plant performance. The role requires PLC programming, PC design software familiarity, and both mechanical and electrical aptitude.

As an Automation Technician, you will help keep production running reliably by maintaining and optimizing automation and controls systems on D Shift (7pm–7am, Wednesday–Friday and every other Saturday). The role supports consistent process performance, reduces unplanned downtime, and enables quick response to equipment and program changes.
Key responsibilities include diagnosing issues on automated equipment, completing routine maintenance on controls and related hardware, and applying focused improvements to strengthen automation performance. You will also document program or configuration updates and coordinate with technicians and engineering to restore safe, stable operation.
Required qualifications/skills:
You begin the night by reviewing production status, recent handoff notes, and any open automation items. Early in the shift, you check key equipment behavior and confirm controls are operating as expected, moving between the floor and control areas as priorities shift. When interruptions occur, you work through symptoms step-by-step—validating signals, confirming program versions, and keeping the team updated so production can plan around recovery. As the shift wraps up, you record what you observed, what was adjusted, and what should be monitored on the next run.
