Job summary

CrowdGen by Appen is seeking an Independent Contractor for Project Lupin to help improve AI-powered speech recognition models. You will check and modify audio segmentation and transcription to support model training.

You will produce verbatim transcripts with timestamps and speaker labels, including non-speech events. Remote, flexible hours, and compensation above minimum wage across markets. A minimum commitment of 10+ hours per week is expected.

Qualifications

• Native-level fluency in Czech; familiarity with regional accents and informal speech.
• Strong listening comprehension and attention to detail.
• Ability to produce verbatim transcripts, including stutters, repetitions and filler words.
• Experience in transcription, annotation, or linguistics is an advantage.
• Reliable internet connection and access to a laptop/desktop.

Responsibilities

• Listen to real audio recordings and produce verbatim transcripts with high accuracy.
• Timestamp segments with less than 500 ms deviation.
• Label speakers for conversations with 2 to 8 participants.
• Annotate non-speech elements such as laughter and background noise.
