The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) in League City, TX is seeking a Cytotechnologist to perform diagnostic cytology duties in a hospital laboratory.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field, certification as a Cytotechnologist, and no required experience. The role requires handling slides, staining, and collaboration with clinicians, with a Monday–Friday day shift and rotating assignments as needed.
Cytotechnologist provides clinical diagnostic study of cells for the purpose of recognizing and classifying malignant and benign inflammatory and irritative conditions.
Must hold a U.S.-based ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) certification; international ASCP certification does not meet this requirement.
The Cytotechnologist is responsible for recording:
The slide interpretation results of each case examined or reviewed.
For each 24-hour period, the total number of slides examined or reviewed in all laboratories.
The number of hours spent examining slides in each 24-hour period.
Monday - Friday, 7:30am – 4pm. They must be willing to rotate to GAL, LCC, CLC and ADC as needed.
