Job summary

Sanford Health seeks a Cytotechnologist to prepare slides, prioritize specimen preparation, and analyze specimens under the microscope, reporting results with cytology terminology. Day shift, 8 hours, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday.

Responsible for maintaining safety and standards in specimen handling, and operating cytology equipment to ensure accurate analysis within a leading rural health system.

Qualifications

• Must be certified as a Cytotechnologist by ASCP or equivalent.
• Graduated from ABHES-accredited cytotechnology program.
• Experience with cytology slide preparation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepares slides of human cell samples and prioritizes specimen preparation.
• Processes and examines specimens under a microscope to identify malignant or related abnormal conditions.
• Reports laboratory results using cytotechnology terminology.
• Maintains safety and adherence to specimen collection standards.
• Demonstrates skill in use of cytology equipment.
• Ensures accuracy of analysis and quality assurance.
