Job summary

UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL seeks a Cytotechnologist to evaluate cytology specimens under supervision and communicate results with the Cytopathology team.

You will screen material, assist Rapid-On Site Evaluations, and maintain essential records. Eligible candidates should have CAHEA-approved Cytotechnology training and Florida licensure, with preferred 1 year lab experience. On-site role with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Cytotechnology training in a CAHEA approved program.
• Eligible for licensure as Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist in Cytology.
• One year laboratory experience as a Cytotechnologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Microscopically evaluate cytology specimens under supervision.
• Screen material and render preliminary interpretations in LIS; forward to Cytopathologists as needed.
• Assist Rapid-On Site Evaluations in various procedures (Bronchoscopy, IR, clinics).
• Maintain records and cover duties of supervisor when absent.
• Prepare cytologic specimens for evaluation using standard procedures when required.
