Job summary

A healthcare provider in Florida seeks a Cytotechnologist to analyze human cell samples under the direction of a Pathologist. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and strong communication skills. Responsibilities include screening slides for evidence of cancer and maintaining documentation. A Florida Cytotechnologist License is required; less than one year of experience is preferred. Excellent customer service skills are a must.

Qualifications

Job description

Under the direction of a Pathologist, is responsible for the fixation, preparation and quantitative and qualitative analysis of human cell samples, as well as record keeping and documentation of daily work, diagnostic results and quality control. Cytotechnologists perform specialized and complex technical tasks involved in screening slides of clinical specimens to detect evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions. These samples include GYN, Non-GYN and Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) specimens collected from all anatomic sites. Provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education: Completion of formal training at an accredited school of cytotechnology. College degree in related area.

Required Licensure/Certifications: Florida Cytotechnologist License
Required Experience: Less than one year - graduate of Cytotechnology program
Preferred Experience: 1-2 years of experience in cytotechnology.
Preferred Licensure/Certifications: Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License in Cytology
