Job summary

UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital is seeking a Cytotechnologist to perform diagnostic studies of cellular material from all body sites in an onsite role. You will participate in quality control, staff consultation, and fast-paced workload management.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a related field, graduation from an accredited Cytotechnologist program, ASCP CT certification, and state licensure if required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Cytotechnologist program is required.
• ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) certification is required.
• State licensure if required by law may be required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine screening of GYN and non-GYN specimens, reports results and documents daily workload records.
• Processes specimens for analysis according to specifications related to the type of specimen.
• Assists with the collection and processing of fine needle aspiration specimens. Performs quality control assessment, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Serves as a consultant to laboratory staff and other clinical staff as needed.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Education

Bachelor's degree in related field

Graduate of an accredited Cytotechnologist program

ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) certification

State licensure if required by law
