Job summary

Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a leading hospital system in White Plains, NY to recruit a New York State Licensed Cytotechnologist for a per diem opportunity. This role offers a flexible schedule within a high-quality hospital laboratory dedicated to exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities include screening cytology specimens, preparing cases for review with pathologists, and maintaining LIS documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or a related life science field.
• Current New York State Cytotechnologist License (Required)
• Completion of an accredited Cytotechnology training program.
• ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) certification preferred.
• Previous hospital or high-volume laboratory experience preferred.
• Excellent microscopic evaluation and diagnostic skills.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens in accordance with established laboratory standards.
• Identify and accurately classify specimens.
• Prepare cases for pathologist review and collaborate on complex or challenging specimens.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Accurately document findings in the LIS.
• Maintain competency with current cytology techniques and laboratory best practices.
• Support daily laboratory operations while maintaining productivity and diagnostic accuracy.
• Participate in continuing education and departmental quality initiatives as needed.
