Cytotechnologist
This position is responsible for providing the technical skills and knowledge necessary in the diagnostic study of cells. Employees in this position determine the appropriate process for specimen preparation and may make initial interpretations of the results. Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or directed by the immediate supervisor. General supervision is received under the Chief Cytotechnologist. Work is performed under usual laboratory conditions. Employees in this class are exposed to materials and fluids which may be infectious; works with chemicals and solutions, many of which are flammable or vaporous.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in biology or related field; graduated from an approved cytotechnology program. Cytotechnology (CT) ASCP certification registered or eligible for registry. No experience required.
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website at https://app4.ttuhsc.edu/payplan.
