Job summary

Holyoke Medical Center's pathology laboratory seeks a Cytotechnologist to join our day shift team in Holyoke, MA. You will prepare, process, and screen cytologic specimens, and perform cytology prep while maintaining instruments and supplies.

You will assist pathologists and radiologists with procedures and help ensure quality results for every patient, every time. Responsibilities include maintaining departmental statistics, overseeing CAP cytopathology checklists, and contributing to a culture

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Cytology or related field.
• ASCP Cytotechnologist certification.
• Minimum two years of recent Cytotechnologist experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and screen cytologic specimens.
• Prepare reagents for procedures and perform cytology prep.
• Maintain lab instruments, supplies and departmental statistics.
• Assist pathologist and/or radiologist with cytology procedures.

Salary: $28.80 - $45.83 hourly

Responsible for the preparation, processing, and screening of cytologic specimens in compliance with policies of the department and the medical center. Duties include, but not limited to, preparing reagents for procedures; performing cytology prep, performing routine maintenance on lab instruments and equipment;maintaining supplies; assisting pathologist and/or radiologist with cytology‑related procedures, maintaining departmental statistics, overseeing the CAP cytopathology checklist.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors Degree; ASCP registration as a Cytotechnologist; minimum of two yearsrecent experience as a Cytotechnologist
