Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Schaumburg, IL is seeking a Cytopathologist with General Surgical Sign-out to join a team of 8+ pathologists. The role requires AP/CP board certification and Cytopathology fellowship or substantial cytopathology experience.

Cytopathologist with General Surgical Sign-out – Schaumburg, IL

Pay Range: $300,000 - $380,000 annually

Our laboratory located in Schaumburg, IL (a suburb of Chicago) is looking to add a Cytopathologist to their team of 8+ Pathologists. We are seeking a candidate that is AP/CP board certified with significant experience in Cytopathology. We are an industry leader and in this role, you will join a great team of professionals with an outstanding support staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic interpretation of biopsy and/or cytology material
• Diagnosis to include gross and microscopic evaluation, dictation, and electronic release of reviewed cases
• Participate as an active medical member of the department with substantial diagnostic case responsibilities
• Participate in client visits, peer consults, and continuing education
• Interact with ordering physicians who request to speak with a pathologist
• Provide expertise and help to technologists and technicians to resolve problems
• Participate in departmental professional Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities, e. g. Pathologist Competency Assessment Program
• Medical directorship opportunities are available

Qualifications

• Must be US board certified in AP/CP
• Must have completed a cytopathology fellowship, or have significant cytopathology experience
• Strong customer focus and understanding of laboratory operations
• Ability to communicate with high level decision makers in the organization
