The University of Kentucky Healthcare seeks a Cytology Technical Specialist to support the Cytology Laboratory as a Cytotechnologist extender. Duties include accessioning, processing, and gross dissection of small core biopsies and assisting ROSE procedures for FNA/Core biopsies using the Mikroscan system.

Responsibilities also include staining and coverslipping slides, maintaining supplies, and ensuring confidentiality under HIPAA.

Formación

• Knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures required.
• Must be a team player with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Must meet regulatory requirements to perform high complexity laboratory testing.
• Previous ROSE procedures and Mikroscan system preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform cytology case accessioning and processing.
• Dissect small core biopsies and assist ROSE procedures for FNA/Core biopsies using Mikroscan.
• Stain and coverslip cytology slides; maintain supplies and dispose of old specimens.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient and business information per HIPAA and compliance standards.
• Adhere to UK Healthcare values and safety policies.
