RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Cytogenetics Technician for our New Brunswick, NJ laboratory. The per diem day shift focuses on advanced chromosomal analysis, FISH, and QC in a high-volume diagnostic setting.

You'll perform tissue culture, G-banding, karyotyping, and ISCN-based reporting, analyze oncology/hematology specimens, and contribute to training and regulatory readiness while upholding strict data privacy and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cytogenetic Technology, Biology, or related field.
• 0-2 years of experience preferred; training available for right candidate.
• Proven competence in routine cytogenetic processing and automated karyotyping.
• Strong commitment to data privacy and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cytogenetic procedures including tissue culture, slide making, G-banding, and automated karyotyping across blood, bone marrow, and tissue specimens.
• Analyze oncology and hematology specimens as the primary focus of laboratory diagnostics.
• Execute advanced cytogenetic methods such as complex chromosome analysis, cell separation, and FISH.
• Maintain strict quality control by documenting reagents and equipment, validating probes, and evaluating results.
