Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Lab Assistant I to capture computer images for cytogenetic cases using CytoVision software. The role includes data entry for patient demographics, printing labels, handling specimens, and performing routine clerical tasks.

The candidate will support the lab by answering inbound calls, maintaining supplies, and ensuring privacy of patient information in line with corporate policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of health care environment experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• In process of obtaining a Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Capture computer images for cytogenetic cases using CytoVision.
• Data entry for patient demographics and requisitions.
• Assemble specimen folders, print labels and sort samples.
• Handle specialty specimens and prepare paperwork for add-on testing.
• Cover-slip, clean and file slides; maintain supplies.
• Receive and direct inbound calls from clinicians and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow privacy/security policies.
• Perform routine clerical duties including filing, faxing, and mail handling.
