Job summary

IQVIA's laboratory in Valencia, CA is seeking a Cytogeneticist Technologist/Scientist to perform tissue processing, paraffin embedding, sectioning, and slide preparation for microscopic evaluation. You will conduct FISH and IHC processing and staining, operate histology equipment, and lead troubleshooting and process improvements.

Additionally, mentor junior staff and ensure CLIA/CAP compliance with SOPs and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Advanced experience in histology techniques including paraffin embedding, sectioning, FISH, and IHC.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (CLIA, CAP) and laboratory operations.
• Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Expertise in histology processes and troubleshooting with advanced problem-solving skills.

• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.
