Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking a Cytotechnologist to perform microscopic evaluation of gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology samples, assist in FNA procedures, and maintain accurate documentation within the laboratory.
The role requires ASCP Cytotechnologist certification (or an equivalent CAHEP/CAAHEP program) and at least one year of hospital-based laboratory experience, with days, full-time hours (8a-4:30p) and adherence to CLIA/CAP standards.
The Cytotechnologist performs specialized microscopic evaluation of cytologic specimens to identify cellular abnormalities and assist in the diagnosis of benign and malignant conditions. This role is responsible for the preparation, screening, and interpretation of cytology samples from various body sites, including gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens, as well as fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures. Working closely with pathologists and laboratory leadership, the Cytotechnologist ensures accurate, timely, and high-quality results while maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The position also contributes to quality improvement initiatives, documentation, and laboratory operations to support optimal patient care.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $42.00 to $56.53. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
