Qualifikationen

• Six months of experience as County Caseworker 1 or equivalent internship.
• Bachelor's degree with a social welfare major or a degree with 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice or related social sciences and one year of professional social casework in public or private settings.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training including 12 credits in sociology/social sciences.
• Within two months of graduating with qualifying degree/credits, educational requirements will be considered met.
• Valid driver’s license is required (not suspended).
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

This role focuses on providing direct service to children and families who have experienced abuse or neglect. You will work in homes and community settings to support safety and well-being. As a County Caseworker 2, you will perform the following duties:

• Conduct Assessments: Complete investigations and evaluate safety concerns for children and families
• Provide Case Management: Coordinate services and track progress for each assigned case
• Support Families: Offer guidance in areas such as parenting, budgeting, employment, and daily living skills
• Arrange Placements: Place children in foster homes when necessary to maintain their safety
• Coordinate Services: Work with community partners and make referrals to strengthen support systems
• Participate Training: Engage in required training programs leading to caseworker certification

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements

• Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or
• Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
• A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or
• A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
• This particular position also requires you to possess a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
• Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including, but not limited to, PA State Police, Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI clearance.
