Work from home, UK client, Full Time, Cypress QA Engineer position

This role is for a substantial, fast-growing, and well-respected UK Tech Company who have hired us to exclusively recruit for them. The business we are representing specialises in supply chain logistics and their mission/aim is to expand on their technology offering within their supply chain business. Location: Remote Work from Home in India

Minimum Experience: 3+ years as an Testing Automation Engineer

Shift Timings: 12 pm - 9:30 pm (Summer), 1 pm - 10:30 pm (Winter)

Roles and responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain and execute automation scripts using tools agreed with the Senior Software Developers, Release Manager and Head of Technology
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet business needs
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
• Report issues/bugs found during testing process using tools agreed with Development Team
• Involved in Software Development Life Cycle
• Design, develop and maintain the automation testing framework with approval from the QA Automation Engineers, Senior Software Developers, Release Manager and Head of Technology.
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.

Essential skills and experience

• Proven work experience automating tests in a web front end, C# and SQL server environment
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, processes and tools, specifically Cypress (minimum 3 years)
• Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting - ability to create queries to select, insert, update data, understanding different ways to join tables etc.
• Knowledge about API testing techniques - experience in creating/updating API test cases, working with tools like Postman, Swagger etc.
• Knowledge of JavaScript - knowledge about different types of variables, loops, comparisons, array methods etc.
• Proven work experience in similar QA Automation Engineer roles
• Proven work experience in software development
• Proven work experience in software quality assurance
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
• Familiar with testing techniques and methodologies
• Someone who is able to hit the ground running with the responsibilities listed above (i.e. someone who is not too junior but at the same time wouldn't be put off by not having that seniority / hierarchy within the team).
• Excellent spoken and written English

Desired skills and experience

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Experience with performance and/or security testing
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
• BS/MS degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
