Job summary

Maine Oxy-Acetylene Supply Company in Auburn, ME, is hiring a Cylinder Maintenance Technician to join our production team. You will re-qualify and test gas cylinders, performing UE, visual inspection, and hydrostatic testing in a fast-paced environment.

You will troubleshoot and maintain equipment, inspect cylinders, and ensure safety and compliance. A high school diploma and ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level I/II UE certification are required or supported for earning it.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform cylinder re-qualification testing (UE) per regulations.

• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
• Inspect and scrap cylinders that fail inspection.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area.
• Liaise with team and managers to meet schedules.

About the RoleMaine Oxy is hiring a Cylinder Maintenance Technician to join our production team. In this hands-on role, you will re-qualify and test industrial and specialty gas cylinders in a fast-paced production environment. Day to day, you will perform ultrasonic examination (UE), visual inspection, and hydrostatic testing, along with routine maintenance of the equipment you use. This is a great opportunity for a mechanically minded, detail-oriented person who takes pride in safe, accurate work. Prior certification is helpful but not required, we will support the right candidate in earning it.This position works regularly with and around hazardous materials, and safety is our top priority.What You'll DoPerform cylinder re-qualification testing, including ultrasonic examination (UE), visual inspection, and hydrostatic testing, in accordance with regulatory and procedural requirements.Complete daily work assignments accurately and on schedule, meeting regulatory standards, established procedures, and management expectations.Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance and routine inspection of operating equipment, identifying when additional repairs or replacements are needed.Inspect cylinders and remove or scrap those found defective.Keep your work area clean, safe, and organized through light routine maintenance.Take on other duties as assigned to support the team.What We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalent (required).ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level I or II UE Examiner Certification (required). Don't have it yet?
