Job summary

Equinox's San Mateo location is seeking Cycling Instructors. Deliver the Equinox experience, monitor class intensity, ensure sessions begin and end on time, assist members with bike tech, teach regularly, and communicate feedback to the Group Fitness Manager.

Candidates must hold a current cycling certification and CPR/AED, understand basic anatomy and ACSM guidelines, and pursue ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current cycling certification; Schwinn or Stages certifications recommended.
• Must possess and maintain CPR/AED certification.
• Must be well-versed in anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, and ACSM guidelines.
• Eager to learn and continue professional development and education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Equinox experience to members in each class.
• Adhere to class descriptions and adjust intensity as needed.
• Ensure classes begin and end on time.
• Assist members with bike technical support to maximize experience.
• Teach classes regularly and minimize subbing.
• Communicate member feedback and equipment/operational status to Group Fitness Managers.

Job Description

Equinox's location San Mateo are seeking Cycling Instructors. We have different categories of cycling at Equinox to meet the needs of our diverse member base.

• Deliver the Equinox experience to our members in each class
• Adhere to the description of the class and monitor/modify the intensity for participants when necessary
• Ensure classes begin and end on time
• Assist Members with technical/mechanical support on the bike to maximize their experience
• Teach respective classes on a regular basis and keep subbing to a minimum
• Communicate with Group Fitness Managers on member feedback, equipment and operational status, scheduling, and subbing

Qualifications

• Must possess a current cycling certification; This certification is not required to audition for The Equinox Cycle Pro Program, but must be completed prior to teaching (Schwinn or Stages indoor cycling certifications are highly recommended)
• Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification;
• Must be well-versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, exercise modifications for all populations and ACSM Guidelines for frequency, intensity, duration, and mode;
• Must be eager to learn and continue professional development and education;
• Must be friendly, vibrant, and outgoing;
• Pay Transparency: $60.00-$80.00 per Class; $16.00/hr (For non-class work)
