Job summary

Valar Atomics is looking for a turbomachinery aerodynamics engineer to advance its power conversion cycle modeling. You will develop a thermodynamic model of the power conversion system and integrate input from turbomachinery, heat exchangers, and flow teams.

Early hires can influence system architecture decisions. The role requires a mechanical or aerospace background with 3+ years in cycle analysis and experience with thermodynamic solvers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of thermodynamic cycle analysis experience.
• Experience with thermodynamic solvers (NPSS, Aspen, GateCycle, Flownex, EES).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a thermodynamic model of the power conversion system.
• Aggregate component performance into the overall cycle model.
• Collaborate with turbomachinery, secondary flow, and heat exchanger teams.
• Define instrumentation plans to calibrate the cycle model to test results.
• Evaluate system-level trades to optimize business outcomes.
