Job summary

Orland Park Health & Fitness Center in Orland Park, IL is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor - Cycle to lead cycle classes on Monday and Saturday mornings.

The role requires a current group exercise instructor certification, CPR/AED certification, and at least 2 years of experience; Power Wellness manages the center and offers a complimentary membership for you and one other household member.

Qualifications

• Group exercise instructor certification required, preferably NCCA accredited.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in group class instruction, variety of styles.
• CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness)
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• NCCA Personal Trainer certification accepted for strength and conditioning classes that are not licensed formats.

Responsibilities

• Teach Group Exercise classes as scheduled, providing modifications for varying fitness levels.
• Ensure safe and effective exercises, especially contraindicated movements.
• Maintain certifications and complete continuing education.
• Arrive early for setup and ensure class ends on time and area is cleaned.
• Report equipment needs or repairs to supervisor after class.
• Record participation numbers after every class.
• Be accountable to schedule and arrange substitutes when needed.
• Provide a fun and engaging experience for participants.
• Work toward departmental and organizational goals.
• Be flexible with center hours and schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
