Job summary

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties in Tacoma, WA is seeking an Exercise Instructor (Cycling) to lead group classes in a safe, engaging environment.

Part-time role with up to 25 hours per week; evening classes at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30pm. Requires at least one year of group exercise experience and relevant certifications; CPR/First Aid/AED preferred. Competitive hourly wage and YMCA benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in group exercise classes.
• Knowledge of core fitness components and best practices for group exercise instruction.
• Group Exercise or related specialty certification (preferred).
• Foundations/certifications such as YMCA, ACE, ACSM, or AFAA (preferred).
• Current CPR, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certifications (preferred).
• Must pass Background and Reference checks (WA State Fair Chance Act).
• Committed to diversity and inclusive environment.
• Complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day and other required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fun, safe and educational classes.
• Design classes to improve one or more components of fitness.
• Demonstrate techniques with different intensity levels.
• Build relationships with members.
• Maintain equipment organization.
• Assist in compiling program statistics.
