Job summary

Idlogistics in Ocala, FL is seeking a cycle counter to partner with the site Operations Manager to maintain accurate inventory levels. You will verify orders, reconcile records, and ensure proper documentation.

The role involves heavy counting, handling returns, and ensuring safety and GMP compliance in a warehouse setting. Pay rate starts at $22 plus a $1.50 shift differential, with a Sat-Tues 5:30 AM–4 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or one year of related experience.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory management procedures and warehousing terminology.
• Excellent math, spreadsheet and PC skills are essential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Accurate, thorough, with attention to detail; able to read and write routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Investigate discrepancies and determine root causes.
• Pull slow moving or obsolete inventory as requested, handle disposal or salvage.
• Process returned shipments and classify first quality vs damaged.
• Ensure proper written documentation is signed off and filed.
• Participate in physical inventories and coach others to maintain integrity.
• Locate products within the system and adjust records to correct discrepancies.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards; follow GMPs.
• Observe safety rules and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The cycle counter works in conjunction with the site Operations Manager to maintain accurate inventory levels in their location. Responsible for maintaining accurate records of all inventories. Handles all paperwork and follows all procedures to meet this goal. Verifies all orders received and shipped and ensures that the orders are properly accounted for in the company's records. Accounts for all defective or damaged products and follows with appropriate corrective action. Manages and reconciles all cycle counts.

• Performing cycle counts daily as assigned.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies found through cycle counts and determine root cause of the problem.
• Pull slow moving or obsolete inventory as requested by the customer to dispose, salvage, or donate. This may include physically lifting or moving products or materials.
• Process returned shipments by unloading the trailer and determining what is first quality or damaged inventory.
• Ensure that all proper written documentation is signed off and filed.
• Participate in and coach LTO's during physical inventories or samplings as requested by the customer to ensure the integrity of the inventory process.
• Conduct any search to locate products within the system. Adjust records when there are discrepancies. Take steps to correct and prevent discrepancies.
• Identify and research unique inventory occurrences to correct them prior to having to lock a bay or make an inventory adjustment.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, in accordance with Food Safety Guidelines.
• Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.
• Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.

• High School diploma/GED or one-year related experience in inventory control and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred.
• Requires knowledge of inventory management procedures and general warehousing terminology and practices. Familiarity with warehouse and inventory management systems required.
• Skills in mathematics, personal computers (Excel) and spreadsheets are vital.
• Interpersonal and communication skills are important.
• Accuracy and thoroughness required with great attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
