Job description

Summary of Position

SiloSmashers is looking for an Offensive Security Operations (OffSecOps) individual to support CISA to strengthen their security posture, improve incident response capabilities, and stay ahead of evolving cyber threats by providing valuable insights into CISA's security landscape to allow them to take proactive steps to mitigate security risks.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Continuously detect, analyze and combat advanced cyber threats.
  2. Proactive Security Approach: Actively seek out vulnerabilities and weaknesses within CISA's systems, networks, and applications before adversaries can exploit them.
  3. Simulating Adversarial Tactics: Emulate the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) used by real-world threat actors to identify and exploit security vulnerabilities. This includes conducting penetration tests, red team exercises, and other offensive security assessments.
  4. Identify weaknesses and gaps in security posture and address them before they can be exploited by attackers.
  5. Collaboration with Defensive Teams: Work closely with defensive security teams to share insights, findings, and recommendations for improving overall security posture.
  6. Simulate realistic attack scenarios and assess the potential impact of security vulnerabilities on business operations, data integrity, and customer trust.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  1. BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline.
  2. 4+ years of OffSecOps experience.
  3. Effective written and oral communication skills.
  4. Previous Federal Government experience is a plus.

  • Minimum Secret

Work Location

  • 100% remote with occasional on-site visits as needed.
