Job summary

Lower Colorado River Authority is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst Sr to support daily SOC activities, including monitoring, alert analysis, incident investigation, and remediation efforts. You will implement and maintain security controls across the enterprise, monitor threats, and manage SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and firewalls.

The role emphasizes contributing to the cybersecurity strategy, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with management.

Qualifications

  • Nine or more years of experience in cybersecurity or relevant experience.
  • A degree in information technology, computer science, or relevant field may be substituted per guidelines for certain years of experience.
  • Driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity threats, incidents, malware, spam, vulnerabilities, and other security events across the enterprise.
  • Proactively assess and hunt for emerging threats and risks while maintaining detection capabilities.
  • Design, implement, administer, and support cybersecurity technologies, including SIEM, vulnerability assessment tools, IDS/IPS, antivirus, email/web security, and firewalls.
  • Plan and execute cybersecurity projects, provide technical security consulting, and support business units in meeting cybersecurity requirements.
  • Develop, document, review, and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, and compliance-related evidence.
  • Support regulatory compliance initiatives, including NERC CIP and other applicable standards, through audits, documentation, field activities, and coordination with management on cybersecurity concerns and incidents.

LCRA is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst Sr to support daily Security Operations Center (SOC) activities, including security monitoring, alert analysis, incident investigation, documentation, and remediation efforts. In this role, you will contribute to the execution of LCRA’s cybersecurity strategy by implementing, operating, and maintaining security technologies and controls across the enterprise. You will monitor emerging cybersecurity threats, technology trends, and regulatory requirements; deploy and manage security solutions such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, perimeter security, and continuous monitoring platforms; and provide subject matter expertise to strengthen LCRA’s overall security posture. How You’re Qualified
  • Nine or more years of experience in cybersecurity or relevant experience.
  • A degree(s) in information technology, computer science or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
  • Driver's license
How You’ll Stand Out
  • CISSP, CEH, GIAC, or similar certifications.
  • Proven hands-on experience in SOC operations, including security alert triage, investigation, and incident documentation across enterprise network environments.
  • Demonstrated background working with SIEM, IPS/IDS, endpoint security, and firewall technologies, along with solid networking fundamentals (routing, switching, TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS/DHCP).
