Job summary

Intertek is seeking a System Administrator in Rockville, MD to manage and grow the infrastructure for cybersecurity testing. The role covers installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of customer devices and internal systems while collaborating with vendors and teams to ensure uptime and resilience.

The position offers a base salary of $75,000–$90,000 with comprehensive benefits and a focus on safety, quality, and 10X performance within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Information Technology or equivalent training.
• Two years of computer network maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Server products.
• Hands-on experience with Linux OS (Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, Red Hat, or CentOS).
• Networking topologies and wiring systems knowledge.
• Experience with firewalls, VPN, and routers.
• CCNA/MCSE or similar certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless devices, virtualization servers).
• Work with devices from multiple vendors and troubleshoot client devices.
• Monitor and resolve network and device issues to minimize downtime.
• Propose and implement infrastructure improvements and upgrades.
• Provide routine support for Windows 11 and virtualization servers.
