Job summary

Summit Technologies & Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to help protect critical infrastructure, defense networks, and autonomous systems from evolving cyber threats.

You will assess risk, identify vulnerabilities, and implement solutions, collaborating with engineers, analysts, and IT teams to respond to incidents and secure operations in high-impact environments. A BS/BA in a related field and 2+ years of cyber experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, risk management, network security, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM platforms, endpoint protection solutions, vulnerability scanners, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Understanding of network protocols, operating systems, cloud security concepts, and security best practices.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards such as NIST, RMF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, or DoD cybersecurity requirements.
• Ability to analyze security events, investigate incidents, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance, if required.
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or CISM.
