Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a cybersecurity engineer to join our team in Charleston. You will coordinate and implement technical security controls, contribute to SSP/DR/incident response planning, and help ensure DISA STIG compliance across Windows and network devices.

Strong written and oral communication, collaboration, and meticulous documentation are essential. This role requires familiarity with vulnerability scanning (Nessus/ACAS), SCC, and ongoing patch management, in a mission-critical

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating and implementing technical controls in a security engineering context.
• Ability to develop and review SSPs, DR plans, incident responses, and authentication management policies.

Responsibilities

• Help develop and review System Security Plans (SSP), Personnel Security, Disaster Recovery, Incident Responses, and Authentication Management policies and plans.
• Help develop detailed and thorough site survey report documentation.
• Assist in device configuration of Windows OS and Cisco IOS devices to comply with DISA STIG and other guidelines.
• Apply operating system patches, service packs, hotfixes, and software/firmware updates.
• Support automated system software update methodologies and technologies.
• Perform system vulnerability scans including Nessus / ACAS, and SCCP Compliance Checker (SCC).

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing technical controls and configuration settings and will work in a team environment alongside other cybersecurity engineers and Risk Management Framework (RMF) analysts responsible for supporting Information System Security Engineering efforts..

Responsibilities

• Helping develop and review System Security System Security Plans (SSP), Personnel Security, Disaster Recovery, Incident Responses, and Authentication Management policies and plans.
• Helping develop detailed and thorough site survey report documentation.
• Assisting in device configuration of Windows Operating Systems, Applications, and Cisco IOS devices to comply with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), and other guidelines.
• Applying operating system patches, service packs, hotfixes, and software/ firmware updates.
• Supporting automated system software update methodologies and technologies
• Performing system vulnerability scans including Nessus / ACAS, and SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC)

Qualifications

Education:

• Information Technology, Risk Management, Cybersecurity
• High School Degree or GED with 6+ Years of experience
• Associate's Degree with 4+ Years of experience
• Bachelor's Degree with 0+ Years of experience

Certifications (one or more of the following):

• CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE or SSCP

• Strong MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and General Office Applications Skills.
