The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 15+ years in cybersecurity, DoD 8570.01-M IAT III or IASAE III, RMF/JSIG experience, and ability to obtain indoctrination into Special Access Programs. Salary range USD 160,000–200,000 per year with DoD-level responsibilities.

• DoD 8570.01-M Information IAT III or IASAE III.
• Extensive RMF/JSIG and cybersecurity risk assessment experience.
• Ability to indoctrinate into Special Access Programs.
• Four years experience may substitute for a degree.

Job description

Full-time cybersecurity Security Control Assessor Representative (SCA-R) opportunity in Dahlgren, VA supporting assessments and controls validation activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead data gathering, research, and analysis while performing threat, vulnerability, risk, and maturity assessments.
• Apply critical thinking to create plans for improving a risk management-related program and contribute to ongoing innovation and improvement.
• Independently conduct Cybersecurity Controls Validation Test events and perform cybersecurity assessment of system authorization packages.
• Independently execute cybersecurity risk assessment tasks and cybersecurity assessment of software and hardware.
• Develop plans to support Controls Validation Test events.
• Perform security inspections (or support inspections), identify security discrepancies, and prepare reports.
• Prepare and deliver briefings to SCA/AO.
• Prepare various forms required for assigned duties.
• Perform courier duties within the continental United States (CONUS).
• Conduct objective reviews of documentation encountered during performance of duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of cybersecurity field experience.
• DoD 8570.01-M Information IAT III or IASAE III prior to accepting position.
• Extensive experience with Risk Management Framework (RF) / JSIG and cybersecurity risk assessment.
• Ability to independently execute:
  • Cybersecurity Controls Validation Test events
  • Cybersecurity assessment of software and hardware
  • Cybersecurity Risk Assessment tasks
• Ability to obtain indoctrination into Special Access Programs.
• Four (4) years’ experience (in addition to minimum experience requirements) may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
