Job Description
Primary Purpose
The Cybersecurity Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of small-to-medium sized cybersecurity projects that successfully meet business objectives. Provides leadership and inspiration to project team members. Manages third party vendors to ensure they deliver the value and services as contracted. Works closely with business and IT stakeholders to meet expectations and delivers maximum value to the business. The Cybersecurity Project Manager is directly responsible for project scope, schedule, budget, deliverable quality, resource management, and communications with team members and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity operations as well as in project delivery, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with matrixed team members across a broad cross-section of stakeholders. This person is expected to understand and abide by all company policy, standards and guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages and leads all aspects of project planning and execution to meet the project objectives and deliver value. This includes, but is not limited to, clearly defining scope and acceptance criteria, schedule development/tracking, resource planning, budget planning/reporting, risk/issue management, stakeholder management, communications and training.
- Leads and motivates project teams consisting of both internal and external resources.
- Leads discussions with cybersecurity, IT and business stakeholders to scope, estimate and prioritize solutions that deliver business value. Develop and present business cases to secure project funding.
- Manages all aspects of vendor lifecycle - vendor selection (RFP/RFQ/Sole Source), staffing, execution, quality, etc. Collaborates with supply management, cybersecurity and other internal stakeholders, and comply with company policies and processes
- Proactively engages IT/cyber resource managers, application/system owners and multiple stakeholders to ensure projects are adequately resourced. Addresses multiple competing priorities using tactful negotiation and communications skills.
- Maintains awareness of evolving cybersecurity threats and best practices security controls.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or related business/technical discipline.
- Minimum of 2-5 years direct experience performing on and/or managing IT projects.
- Proven experience on projects of large and small security related initiatives to successful completion.
- Utility specific information security and/or related infrastructure background.
- Demonstrated knowledge of vendor selection, testing, implementation, and operations of standard security technologies.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment regarding review findings and make cost effective recommendations to management.
- Strong analytical skills from a business perspective including operating, technical, financial and other related fields.
- Ability to work effectively on multiple small-to-medium sized projects within a team structure and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Working knowledge of multiple project delivery methodologies - waterfall, agile, etc.
- Demonstrable knowledge of one or more project management tools - MS Project, Jira, Azure Dev Ops, et al.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree Business Administration, Project Management or related business/technical discipline.
- Energy/utility industry and/or industrial operations technology specific information security and/or related infrastructure background.
- Bi-lingual English and Spanish.
Work Schedule
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 3 days per week onsite.
