Job summary

Racine County is seeking a Cybersecurity Operations Supervisor to strengthen its cybersecurity infrastructure and operational effectiveness through preparedness, threat prediction, detection, incident response and governance. You will lead a team of IT professionals and ensure best practices across security policies and procedures.

The role requires ongoing risk-based management, collaboration with leadership, and development of monitoring and response capabilities to protect county information

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/IT preferred; combination with military or cybersecurity experience considered.
• Minimum 3 years cybersecurity experience required.
• At least 2 years hands-on experience with penetration testing methodologies and tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of IT professionals.
• Prioritize tasks and projects to meet deadlines and allocate resources effectively.
• Protect Racine County information, assets, and operations from disruption or disclosure.
• Design and build secure IT systems per reference architectures and standards.
• Review cybersecurity information to determine usefulness for intelligence.
• Collect/analyze information from endpoints and networks to identify vulnerabilities.
• Assess threats and develop mitigation countermeasures.
• Develop/modify cybersecurity policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Keep leadership informed and disseminate cyber threat assessments.
• Plan and execute incident response and postmortem exercises.
• Develop and maintain Incident response plan.
• IDS monitoring and log analysis to distinguish intrusions from false alarms.
• Monitor security events 24x7.
• Assist in security awareness materials and trainings.
