Job description

CYBERSECURITY OPERATIONS ANALYST

Purpose: The Cybersecurity Operations Analyst designs and manages information security solutions, summarizes trends, and develops and implements processes and procedures to protect Clayton County’s information, assets, and systems. This position reports to the Network Security Engineer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Develops and documents technical security procedures and protocols.
  • Identifies new security practices or trends and evaluates their applicability.
  • Conduces periodic security reviews and audits to ensure measures function properly.
  • Monitors and analyzes network traffic to identify intrusions or breaches.
  • Serves as first‑level escalation for security incidents, escalating to the Network Security Engineer immediately.
  • Works with department stakeholders, network infrastructure teams, IT leadership, and other personnel to resolve incidents.
  • Provides on‑call support for off‑hour breaches and incidents and helps implement scalable, secure models for county applications, networks, and services.
  • Ensures authorized access to all systems.
  • Functions independently, manages multiple tasks, and fosters a collaborative team environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 2+ years of security management experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for official county business, including after‑hour return trips.

  • Data Utilization – ability to review, classify, and analyze data for compliance and risk assessment.
  • Human Interaction – skill in influencing others to coordinate projects or responsibilities.
  • Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization – ability to operate and adjust complex equipment and tools.
  • Verbal Aptitude – use of reference, descriptive, advisory, and design data effectively.
ADA COMPLIANCE

Physical Ability: tasks require very moderate effort, moderate work, with frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and capable of lifting and carrying objects up to 100 pounds.

Sensory Requirements: ability to perceive colors, shades, and visual cues; oral communication skills.

Environmental Factors: may involve exposure to adverse conditions and traffic hazards.
